CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

CREATIVE MOVEMENT II
Ages 3 - 4.5

A fun-filled introduction to dance! Children learn the building blocks of dance and discover their own creative voice through "dancing stories" and interpreting music. Students gain strength, coordination, balance and self-confidence while having a great time with their peers. This class also introduces the traditional dance class structure through age appropriate warm ups, traveling combinations and student generated choreography.


CREATIVE MODERN DANCE
Ages 4.5 - 6

An introduction to traditional modern dance. Children learn modern dance vocabulary such as plies, tendus, swings, leaps and turns. In addition, students cultivate their own creative voice by creating their own dances, an increase their strength, coordination, balance and self-confidence while having a great time with their peers. This class follows the traditional dance class structure through age appropriate warm ups, traveling combinations and student generated choreography.


MODERN I
Ages 7 - 9

A beginning Modern Dance class, in the tradition of Modern Dance pioneer Isadora Duncan. Children continue to learn modern dance vocabulary such as plies, tendus, brushes, jumps, swings, leaps and turns, and combine their new skills in increasingly complex phrases. We will also explore Greek Mythology and embody classical architypes through dance, in the tradition of Isadora Duncan. Students further cultivate their own creative voice by creating their own dances, and increase their strength, coordination, balance and self-confidence while having a great time with their peers. This class follows the traditional dance class structure through age appropriate warm ups, traveling combinations and student generated choreography.


DANCE WITH ME!
Ages 18 mos. - 2 yrs.

*Each DANCE WITH ME CLASS IS $12. Students do not need to enroll, but must pay the $20 yearly registration fee.

A fun-filled dance class for toddlers and their caregivers. Children and adults explore dance together through age appropriate dancing stories, games and songs. Students develop balance, coordination, strength and confidence while having a great time with their caregiver and new friends!


DRAMA!!
Ages 5 - 9

A fun-filled introduction to acting and drama. Improvisation, theater games, puppets and stories develop acting skills along with confidence and creativity. Students work with some pre-scripted material, as well as writing their own plays! This class culminates in a performance of student generated work, complete with props and costumes. Music and movement are a part of each class.
