Original Music by Hajji Majer and Jason Martin

Soundance Inc. presents Vanessa Paige Dance in "THE WAITING ROOM", a new piece by Vanessa Paige with original music by Hajji Majer. An exploration of life after death, "THE WAITING ROOM" is where various souls congregate in anticipation of being sent back to Earth, God pounds on an adding machine in a valiant attempt to make the numbers add up. Conflict, tenderness, despair and sex toss the eight characters into odd configurations and alliances.

Also on the program is "BETTER HALF", an exploration of conflicting premarital messages, both hostile and sincere. A soloist navigates such comments as "Are you pregnant?" and "I thought you were going to marry the Jewish one," as a wedding dress swings ominously from the ceiling. The original score is by Jason Martin.

"SOMETHING BAD (in case we get separated)" is a solo/monologue about anxiety, children's songs and a black bat that won't go away.
